Usaha ternak ayam banyak dibudidayakan dengan pola mandiri oleh masyarakat pedesaan. Kegiatan beternak ayam dilakukan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pangan sendiri khususnya memenuhi kebutuhan protein hewani. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk menganalisis kelayakan suatu usaha dan titik impas usaha ternak ayam dengan pola mandiri di Desa Braja Dewa, Kecamatan Way Jepara, Lampung Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara menghitung nilai Titik Impas dan R/C ratio. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa (1) Nilai BEP produk yang didapat peternak sebesar 6.456 kg per tahun dan berada diatas BEP produksi yakni sebesar 4.585 kg dalam satu tahun; (2) Nilai kelayakan usaha ternak yang didapat sebesar 1,16 > 1. Hasil ini meperlihatkan bahwa usaha ternak ayam petelur ini layak dijalankan.
Many chicken farms are cultivated independently. The activity of raising chickens is carried out to meet their own food needs, especially to meet the needs of animal protein. The purpose of the study was to analyze the feasibility of a business and the break-even point of a chicken farming business with an independent pattern in Braja Dewa Village, Way Jepara District, East Lampung. The research method uses a survey method. Data analysis was carried out by calculating the break-even point and R/C ratio. From the results of the study, it was found that (1) the BEP value of the product obtained by farmers was 6,456 kg per year and was above the production BEP, which was 4,585 kg in one year; (2) The feasibility value of the livestock business obtained is 1,16 > 1. The results prove that the laying hens business is feasible to run.
